ORIGINAL: Shows the number of hours a minimum wage worker would have to work to afford a 2 bedroom apartment (by state)  By the National Low Income Housing Coalition. Found on the Daily Agenda.
Map shows number of hours worked per week.

This is ridiculous.  According to this map, someone making minimum wage would have to work at more than three full time jobs in the state of California and New York in order to afford a 2 bedroom apartment.  No wonder people can’t make ends meet.  Shoot, I make well over minimum wage and I am struggling.

The reality is that a living wage should be the minimum wage.  People are busting their butts trying to make ends meet with two or three jobs or living with multiple generations of families in one small home and we are worried about the cost to the employers?

Things are so ass backwards.

liv·ing wage
  1. wage that sustains standard of living: a wage that will allow a worker to support a family in reasonable comfort

Is this really asking too much?

Keeping people impoverished will keep people needing entitlement programs.  If you want to do away with entitlement programs then there must be a complete overhaul of the entire beast.
